I have had great results with 20-rep squats.  Though I didn't gain 30 lbs.
in 6 week, I did raise my squat lifting poundage by 100 lbs in that time.
If you follow the suggestion of choosing a weight you can squat to 10, then
squat to 20, you WILL grow stronger.  It worked for me.  If you work really
hard and lift in a gym, you will be viewed as a masochistic.  Working that
hard isn't pretty.  Some on this list may not agree with me on 20-rep
squats, but I'm just telling what worked for me.  Also, perform 20-rep
deads 3-4 days later.
