Personally, treadmills seem too...  consistent?

Does he like sports at all?  I ask because when my neice decided to take up
soccer, not only did she become much more agile, but her legs developed
*wonderfully* and your question immediately brought that back to mind.  I
would think playing soccer variations in the yard would do a lot for him,
and you might have fun with it, too?
