Sounds like you have DMA enabled (as in UDMA66) but do not have the
80-connector cable on the IDE channel, secondary in this case.  Either
disable DMA for the CD or use an 80 connector cable.  I don't know if that
will help with the burning, but it should get rid of that error message.
For the burning, have you tried copying to the hard drive first?  That may
help with the buffer underrun.
