Maybe you bumped or jiggled the card.  It may have been loose or not
properly seated.  Maybe a cable connected to it was loose.  If it happens
again, the first thing I'd do is open the box, unstatic myself by touching
the chassis, and first push on the card to make sure it's seated.  If it is,
the next thing I'd do is check the cable(s) to it and from it to make sure
they're all the way in.  Check the screw that holds it in as well.


Yes, I tried that and nothing showed up.  The problem was fixed last nite
as mysteriously as it started.  Opened the case up looked around and put it
back together and the sound came back.  I think for the time being I'm going
to leave that computer alone!
