                          PRESS RELEASE

The Long Island Center for Independent Living will be holding a
workshop for those interested in writing about their life. Books
like MY LEFT FOOT, BORN ON THE FORTH OF JULY and GIRL,
INTERRUPTED have educated millions about the abilities of those
with physical, emotional and mental disabilities. Your words can
do the same.

Bob Mauro will be giving a workshop at LICIL called HOW TO WRITE
YOUR OWN LIFE STORY: AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL AND MEMOIR WRITING FOR
PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2001, from
2:30 to 3:45 at LICIL. Bob Mauro is the author of five books,
including THE LANDSCAPE OF MY DISABILITY (an autobiographical
collection of his poems) and HOW TO LIVE LONGER WITH A
DISABILITY.

To register for this free workshop, contact LICIL at 516-796-0144
voice or 796-0135 TDD. Join us! Your life story could help
educated millions!
