Spock : "Captain - long range scan has picked up what looks like humanoid life"

Captain "Go to warp two - lets take a closer look".

Ello there - I guess there is life after all - it just took 1 message to set it all off :-)

(I know - its happened on more than one of my lists as well)..

Anyway - The reason for this - is Im thinking (or going to think about) going to my doctor for a referal to a hip/leg specialist person (not sure of exact title).. - for a hip replacement..

- Now - I WAS totally walking un-aided - just a few years ago - & was totally "paranoid / scared" - of getting a walking stick - for months.. (not in those words - but i kept on putting it off - because of what i thought other people would say)..

- Anyway - Nothing major happened - a few people made comments etc (good ones) .. - but most just accepted it as if i had always been using a walking stick..

Anyway - the hospital waiting-list is (or used to be) several years - so in the meantime, I know i'll have to go into a wheelchair - not sure how soon though..

- Has anyone here been in that position - been 'walking" - and now in a wheelchair.. ?

From my experience of the walking stick - im not 'scared" or anything of what people would say / do.. - But i know its a lot more complex than a walking stick...

any help / advise / thoughts / chocolate ?

Gordon.
