May I suggest you contact your local schools or the School District to see if
you can help children. There are many schools that need help like you would
like to give because many disabled children are mainstreamed and the schools
are not prepared for it.

You could also contact local collleges and universities to see if they have
any suggestions. You may want or need to take a coarse or two to get
something to say you are qualified to help children.

Would you volunteer at a hospital or school to prove you are capable of
taking care of children?

I know it's difficult to get the proper opportunity to show people what you
are capable of doing.

Please let us know how you are doing in finding a job.
