They tried to associate themselves with socialism.

If socialism was in the USSR, then it was in its most authoritarian state.

Undesirable, I think.

Its hierarchic structures was one of its most annoying characteristic.

Any model which doesn't share the same authoritarian traits.  Specific
historical models? I’m no historian, so even if I point you to you one
example, I couldn’t argue it at length.
