there has been lots of evil that has been done in the name of religion. i
hate the term holy war. there is no such thing as a holy war.

i too thought it good when the pope gave an appology and i am not even
catholic, but have some great catholic friends as i do jewish friends etc.
the apology was overdue.

Hi Ken,

The Golden Rule applies to almost all belief systems. The problem
never lies with philosophies but the fears that haunt the corners of peoples
Hearts. The fear that we may lose what we have, we may not good enough, the
fear of looking foolish or silly, the fear we may be wrong - thats the
kicker - when you cannot allow another person their opinion without one
being and one being - rather than two being fine but different - that's what
leads to Holocausts and Burning Times. I was happy to see the Holy Father
ask for forgiveness for the actions of the Christian people and their
ability to ahhhhhhhh......... love us. I am a firm believer in One
Earth -One People - not that I believe I will see in my lifetime - it would
require people to truly espouse Love and Tolerance - something they wish
for selves but are hestitant to offer to others. In respect to last
question - I placed facts on both the Jewish Religion and The Islamic one
out on the list. Plus the Golden Rules!! These come from a truly Great Site
Ontario Consultants on Religious Tolerance.

And in the words of the now late Pagan Patriarch Stuart Farrar -
Love is the Law - The Whole of the Law.

                                       Blessed Be
                                           Trisha
