This is a pretty straight forward  upgrade and as long as you stay with a
name brand controller like Promise you should not have a problem. You will
need an available IRQ and this is the biggest downside. Other then that
make sure it is a tertiary controller so it will work as a
third  controller with two channels four drives. You might consider a ULTRA
66 controller which will be backward compatible. This will give you much
more flexibility for future drives. However for maximum stability and
compatibility keep it ULTRA 33 all around. ULTRA 33 should have the added
advantage of being much cheaper.
