This is a pretty straight forward upgrade and as long as you stay with a name brand controller like Promise you should not have a problem. You will need an available IRQ and this is the biggest downside. Other then that make sure it is a tertiary controller so it will work as a third controller with two channels four drives. You might consider a ULTRA 66 controller which will be backward compatible. This will give you much more flexibility for future drives. However for maximum stability and compatibility keep it ULTRA 33 all around.
