You can test this with your cd-r software. The test will determine if
source data flow is well suited for your recorder's cache level. If
your data flow can't keep up you'll likely get a buffer under run
error.

You can avoid the whole issue by copying the source data to the local
hard drive. If you're short on space you may be able to perform a
multi-session recording and copy the source in chunks.
