Liza,

<< My point is that there are no generalizations. Some people can not ever eat
raw foods, some people can today and not tomorrow, some people have to have
meat, some people are allergic to meat, some meat eaters can transition
abruptly overnite to all raw, others can't, some people crave and thrive on
dairy, others go into anaphylactic shock, etc etc etc. >>

As always I greatly enjoy your posts and your candor, and I enjoyed that last
paragraph but I would like to say something about one little part...

Regarding the above first part of the second sentence, it has been my
experience in LIFE that there are momentary circumstances where certain things
are appropriate. These things may change depending on what follows, and what
a person's intent is, how they change, etc...

As a nutritionist...

Why would you limit an individual by saying that they can not EVER eat raw
foods? Who are you to say that to a person? How could you possibly KNOW?

I do not understand...

It appears to me that...

You are limiting their LIFE if you say that they can not EVER eat raw foods.
Instead, you might want to say, to your client, and your Self, "I do not know
how to help you heal so that you can eat raw foods..."

"I do not know..."

What do you think?

How does it make you feel to say to someone that they cannot EVER eat raw
foods? Does it make you feel knowledgeable?

Perhaps that is an addiction...

Are you afraid of the pain of not knowing? Are you afraid of handling
mystery? Afraid of having people come to you for help not knowing how to help
them achieve what might be the best diet for them, possibly a diet high in raw
foods? The pain of admitting that you are limiting another individual when
you say to them, "you cannot EVER eat raw foods." ?

Are you afraid of pain?

Perhaps they do not do well on raw foods today, or even next week, but if
sufficiently healed, why not Raw? Is it your job to merely keep the
individual functioning, or to help them heal so that they can continually
evolve to a healthier and healthier diet, whatever that diet may be?

Does it give you comfort to think that they cannot EVER eat raw foods,
therefore the cooked diet you prescribed was best? Does it let you forget
about them?

I don't know how you can say NEVER eat raw foods.

I do not know how you can KNOW...

Perhaps you mis-wrote...

Sometimes I wonder if you do not over-speculate and limit yourself, and thus
others, as you lose perspective. It 'appears' to me that you think a lot,
probably all the time, and everything gets associated with what you know, and
filed away, but just as you are probably highly visual, and so you miss some
auditory, and kinesthetic information, there is always information that you
are missing when you do not honor the mystery that is always present.

It is almost like I see you and your client in the middle of the forest, and
you are saying "I have been all through this forest, and there is no way
out." Whereas, I am above the forest, saying to you, Liza, perhaps there is a
way out, you just haven't found it yet. Please don't tell your client that
there is no way out, please tell him that you are not aware of a way, but that
if he wants to try, you will continue to experiment with different directions,
accepting that for Now, you are stuck in the forest...

That's how it appears to me, and as always, I'd love to be wrong...

What do I know anyway, when it is all mystery... ;)
