Hello Tony!
If your friend's computer is slowing down, there is a good chance that
Win 95's arteries are getting clogged up. First make sure that defrag
and scandisk are being run on a regular basis (and if MS version,
reconstituting the swap file). If that doesn't really help, my next
trick is to reformat the hard drive and reinstall everything. Why?
Windows tends to fatten up on program installations, internet
downloads, etc. It holds on to a lot of trash you might think gets
thrown out. I reformat about every 6 months and find the speed
increases quite noticeable (an objective measurement: my boot time -
from msdos.sys menu to log on point - went from nearly three minutes
to just over one minute).
Hope this helps!

P.S. How much hard drive space is left?

I have a friend who has a two year old Packard Bell box and lately it
has been
running very slow and even locks up every now and then.
