Hello Tony! If your friend's computer is slowing down, there is a good chance that Win 95's arteries are getting clogged up. First make sure that defrag and scandisk are being run on a regular basis (and if MS version, reconstituting the swap file). If that doesn't really help, my next trick is to reformat the hard drive and reinstall everything. Why? Windows tends to fatten up on program installations, internet downloads, etc. It holds on to a lot of trash you might think gets thrown out. I reformat about every 6 months and find the speed increases quite noticeable (an objective measurement: my boot time - from msdos.sys menu to log on point - went from nearly three minutes to just over one minute).
