I chose not to tie up my phone and PC with 20+ Meg download.
I'm still waiting for my CD so I can't speak from experience,
and there is nothing in the MS knowledge base yet.
But here's a shot in the dark.<g>

Maybe it needs to see all office components?  Did you do a
standard install of Office or did you customize and leave
some parts out? (Yeah, I know, who can remember what/how they
installed something last year....)
