If your operating system has a restore function, use it to return the
computer setup to the earliest restore point before your changes to the
"msconfig". Then, you can use the "startup" portion of msconfig to stop
programs from loading as Windows starts up. Only stop those you are sure of.
A number of the programs are required and or good such as antivirus,
firewall, etc.

Also, changing one item at a time takes longer but permits you to determine
if there are any undesired effects.

If you don't have a restore function and the only bad result was the
desktop, you should be able to right click on the desktop and reset the
properties to your desired setting/appearance.
