This is EXACTLY the problem I had installing Win95 OSR2 on a
Gemlight GMB-486-SG V1.1 motherboard with Award Modular BIOS v4.50G.

You have the BIOS hard disk boot sector virus protection enabled
and it intercepts the Win95 setup but
the Win95 setup prevents the BIOS completing its warning message.
Result - empty dialog box and puzzled user.

Solution: go into BIOS setup and disable the virus protection,
then repeat the Wininstall.

Strangely, if, having successfully installed Win95, you should wish to
repeat the installation (a hobby many Win95 users have discovered :-),
you will probably find the BIOS warning works normally!
