Here is a site for downloading delpart.exe which will remove the XP
partition from your drive. The information here is not really applicable to
your situation. Download delpart.exe, copy it on to your win95 boot
diskette, boot with the diskette in drive a: and when the prompt appears,
type
delpart.exe and press enter.

This next site has some screen shots of delpart.exe, its a pretty basic
program, asks "are you sure?" then removes the partition information. You
will then need to run fdisk.exe from your win95 diskette to set a new
partition, format it, and then install windows. If your diskette does not
have an fdisk.exe that supports FAT32 (you can tell because it will ask if
you want 32bit support as its first prompt) then I recommend you find a
win98 boot diskette that will have FAT32 support.

My guess is that your drive has been formatted to NTFS and is not recognized
by your older 95 floppy, which expects FAT.
Perhaps, instead of trying to format it, you should try to FDISK it, erasing
the old logical drives and then replacing them. If this works, then you
have gone to a lower level than the file system and may be able to format
for FAT 32. (I have never had to do this, so I do not know for sure that it
will work.) FDISK should be on the Win 95 boot disk. If this works, then
you should be able to install 95.

the command at A: prompt to format c:, it tells me "invalid drive". I am
only a novice at this, so any help given would be appreciated and keep the
lingo so I can understand...please!!
