Levi,

If the motherboard slot is 4X compatible, then it should handle cards that
advertise any combination that mentions 4X. So both the cards you mention
should work. Going with the 4X/8X card may be beneficial because if you
upgrade your mobo in the future with on that supports 8X, you can use the
card and take advantage of the faster speed (although some may argue that 8X
is not that much faster than 4X, and within a couple years, virtually all
mobo's and graphics cards may well be PCIe (PCI express) instead of AGP.)

The description you gave for the notches sounds OK, where you would have a
problem is if there were tabs in your mobo slot that don't match notches in
the card, this would prevent the card fromn going in. It is normal for the
card to have notches in positions where no tabs exist in the mobo slot if it
can accept the card.

Hi i wanted to upgrade my computer by buying a new graphics card. i have = a
4XAGP slot, two pci slots, and an AMR slot. when searching for the grap=
hics card i saw that on newegg (which is how i found you by the way) the =
sub catagories are AGP 2X/4X, will that fit in my 4XAGP slot? then under =
that theres a AGP 4X/8X, will that fit my motherboard too? when actually =
looking at the cards they have notches on the card and on my mother board=
theres no place for those notches its just one straight slot for a card.=
the same is for the PCI cards, theres notches that it looks like it is s=
upposed to go into but its not on ym computer, the pci only has one notch=
and its to the right, so im guessing those wont work? and do they make a=
gddr3 card that fill fit my system? thankyou
