I have a Gateway Select 475 and the top of it gets pretty warm, upon taking 
the cover off for a closer look I discovered that was where the harddrive 
was located. The only fan on this computer is the power supply fan. Don't 
know if this helps or not but take a closer look at the top of the drives to 
see if that is where your harddrive is located.
