I don't know if this applies to how your DSL is set up, but mine required me
to give my DSL service provider the MAC number of my network card. This is
how the service provider identifies that my specific computer is hooking up
to their service. The router I'm using allows me to set it's MAC number to
be the same as that of my network card. From the service provider's
perspective, the router now looks like the network card.

If your router doesn't masquerade MACs, you should be able to get the hard
wired MAC number of your router, call up your service provider, and give
them this new MAC number to identify your system to them.

Subject: router problem with DSL

> Hi there Listers,

computers through a router. Being directly connected to the DSL modem I can
use it with that computer now at least.
