The first thing would be to move your swap file to the D drive or free up
another 300 Mb, 200 Mb is not enough free space. Should have at least 2X
Memory available.

I have a PC to the following spec.

1.8GHz Athlon AMD Processor
256Mb RAM (16Mb of which is shared to on-board VGA card)
5Gb HDD (C:\) for system and programmes - about 200Mb left
20Gb HDD (D:\) for data - about 17Gb left
Windows XP Professional O/S

The problem is that this PC freezes up completely when using either Internet
or email. Both of these are through a cable modem (150k Broadband) which has
only recently been added. The freezing problem didn't occur when they were
accessed via the old dial-up 56K modem.
