Another idea is that the game could just be 'messing up' all the files; that
happens when my kids play 'the sims' on thier pc's. I have to scan and
defrag most times  after they've been doing quite a bit of 'playing'.
Thankfully for me, the novelty seems to be wearing off with my kids.
This is another possibility.
