i am curious where did you check ? if you do a search on google on farmed
salmon you get this
http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=farmed+salmon&btnG=Google+Search&meta=
you can look paghes after pages the numerous evidence that not everything is
okay about farmed salmon
it raises many important issues from the helath of consumers to the
disparition of wild salmon ,pollution of ocean inlets ,to agravation of
desertification of oceans ( 5 pounds of perfectly edible fishes like
anchovies sardines herrings etc..to produce 1 pound of farmed salmon )
impoverishement of poor countries to fatten the rich ( the feed comes from
chile waters caught by big international corporations depriving local
fishermens ) etc..
i am living in the mist of dangerously expanding industry all over the coast
of british colombia . beautifull wild and rich environement that feed whales
and orcas are invade by salmon farms endangering thru diseases and parasites
the wild salmon population ( see lice problem).
economically this whole industry is profiting very few international
corporations .
a local story that shows the ambiance around farm salmon .

our local farm put signs on the road from the ferry terminal to the farm
saying "fresh seafood " no indication it is farmed ( misleading the tourists
who comes to visit out island . the owner of the fram found out it was not
enough to succed saling his salmons so he did buy a fishing boat that he
brought to the main harbour of the island and put signs in front of the
local fish store owned and operated by a local fisherman who sell only wild
salmon , signs saying "fresh seafood ". people go all the way to te dock to
buy their fresh what they think are wild salmons , freshlly caught .that is
theb extent of what farmed operators are ready to do to sale their crap the
corporations that hire him pay him what is needed for this "public
relations efforts " as they need to take over the wild salmon market to
oblige peoples to accept their strategies ( that is to makes as much money
as possible no matter what is the long term cost for the future generations
.

if you want to really check see this web site

i will like that you reconsider your position because i need to know that my
childrens will have a future her in BC
