I prefer the Omega3 eggs sold locally. Perhaps I am just used to the taste
more so than 'regular' eggs as I've always hated eggs but I eat the O3's
hardboiled only. I find the O3's more 'pure' tasting.

My folks prefer regular and won't eat the O3's I buy.

As for availability, they are widely available in Canada from at least 2
brands. The health food store probably just didn't like the pricing
arrangements. Many stores when discontinuing sale of a product for various
reasons will tell a consumer the product is discontinued or no good please
buy something else we carry, even though the product is still on the market
and fine.
