"He was an exceptionally talented kid," Kemo Ceesay, a senior official of
Steve Biko FC told *Observer Sports*.

"He was a self-motivated kid who had an inner-confidence about himself. His
death is a big loss for not only Steve Biko Football Club, but also the
Gambian sports fraternity.

"He died at a time when he was just about to try out his luck in Europe.
Arrangements were underway for him to go for a trial in Belgium next month,
but unfortunately things happened this way and we are very shocked about
it."

Gambia are the reigning African junior champions after they beat hosts
Algeria in the final of this year's tournament.
