Bambalaye Jallow,

Let me put you on notice regarding a few things:

1. I was already out of bed. I rise automatically every morning between the hours of 2-3am. It started with the birth of my first child and has not gone away despite the fact that he is 10 years old. So, if you are going to wake me up; please do so earlier.

2. While the below appears to be promising stats; I am more interested in equal pay for the same job within that field of study. It would have been more interesting if they had tied cha ching ($$$$) into the study to show that women's compensation in those fields was growing at a higher rate then their male counterparts. Now those would be some stats one could sink their teeth into.

3. Also, how many of those graduates actually have a career within those fields of study? I have a comprehensive Art degree with a painting emphasis and I am a Financial analyst. Go figure. I probably should have purchased a paint by number kit and saved a whole wad of money but, the Art Dept did throw better parties with better food so, I guess I shouldn't complain!

4. I think you have moved into the #1 slot of contributors that I enjoy reading. You are always coming up with a variety of good stuff to let us chew on. (Do not let this go to your head though or I may have to knock you down.).

Always a pleasure Bambalaye,

Chris

REASON TO GET OUT OF BED THIS MORNING

Over the last decade, women have become a larger presence in science,
as shown in a study by the National Center for Education Studies. From
2003 to 2009, the number of women with undergraduate physical science
degrees jumped 22.1 percent, and the number with doctoral science
degrees increased by 53.7 percent.
