They truely have shown that God's position is permanent and man's is temporal. If the Gunjur Darboes, the Jannehs and the like should think of how they can unite as they used to be since the founding of their town and not allow themselves to be used and dumped by a tiny boy who know nothing, the better for them and the entire Gambia. Gunjur is Gambia's respected town and rivaries would harm the entire Nation as a whole and its time they show the devil that they are better. I am so happy for them and God would guide them towards unity.

The solutions to the problems of mankind will necessarily come from those who are most familiar with the genesis of those problems. Haruna.

Breaking News: Gambia: Jammeh Appoints New Chief For Foni Bintang Karanai

Jammeh Appoints New Chief For Foni Bintang Karanai

As Ex Kombo South Chief Rejects Jammeh's Offer

By Staff Reporter Bakary Gibba, Banjul

President
Yahya Jammeh has hired Mr. Alfusainey Jarju a native of Foni Sibanorr,
as the new Chief (Seyfo) of the Foni Bintang District with effect from
August 17, 2011, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal.

Mr. Jarju, is a former employee of the then Children Christian Fund (CCF) now known as the Child Fund The Gambia. He
converted to Christianity shortly after he picked up another job with
the Missionary Church in Brikama Cannaan, but only to switch his fate
again to Islam. Mr. Jarju replaces the late Chief Mr. Camara, who passed
away due to an ailing health condition, sources here said.

Residents
of the area were taken aback by Mr Jarju’s appointment—a man they
described as a dormant APRC sympathizer. He was handpicked by the
President Yahya Jammeh, following a recommendation made on his behalf by
the Governor of West Coast Region, Alhagie Lamin Sanneh.

There
is a growing disapproval about Jarju’s appointment amongst the local
populace here. For example, constituents are of the view that there are
more qualified, dedicated, loyal, and committed APRC party supporters
who have been sidelined despite their initial expression of interest in
occupying the position, said our sources.

In a related development, this medium was reliably informed that the Ex-Chief of Kombo South Lamin Darboe, has turned down an
offer from President Jammeh to serve as the new Chief of the District,
following the recent sacking of Chief Ajay Sheriffo Janneh. Mr. Janneh
was dismissed by the Head of state without any reason given for his
removal.

Administration
sources hinted that Business tycoon Pa-Giki Darboe, was also approached
to fill the vacant position, but he told Jammeh’s emissaries that he is
battling with poor health condition. That did not stop the authorities
though from prevailing on Darboe’s son Fanding Darboe to consider
replacing the sacked former chief Ajay Sheriffo Janneh.
