Sir George:

Mr. Touray is a victim of Jammeh's terror. The man is a myriad of hope, a strong nationalist, and a visionary youth who realized his talents and wanted to plant those talents in his country of birth. I send him my prayers and support. I understand that many people including all of us here wants to contribute to national development by initiating projects home at some point. While it is a step in the right direction, the state of affairs is not currently supportive. The terror administration has failed as a result of their complexity, insecurity and arrogance. The current myriad wave of changes globally observed hasn’t taught the man a damned thing. He is walking with his sandals making the noise behind him that scares him to death –something that a political guru informed me years back that dictators are scared of even the noise that comes from their shoes. See, insecurity combined with arrogance is a ticking time bomb to explode within moments.

What is even more puzzling is the fact that the opposition politicians has not yielded to the peoples’ demand by coming under the same umbrella. For what reason, I am sure; it is beyond me and the many others here and there. By not agreeing to this demand, it means we are ceding the seat of the presidency to a man that said enough, committed enough and took enough. I wonder what explanation will give to our sons, daughters and grandchildren over the legacy of derailed democracy we are passing onto them. To me, the arithmetic is not there. It really scares me that someone is not listening. If you are not listening to the voices of the oppressed while you are not in power, what is there to convince me that you will listen when you come to power? See the proud panther walking again……….

I was a little puzzled by Barrister Fatty’s (GMC) congratulatory message to the APRC. To me, it gives the man and his party more credence, importance and legitimacy. I understand under a healthy environment, something like what he did should be common to promote democracy and peaceful co-existence, especially be that he hailed from Wulli. Leaders in his caliber should be on alert regards to the signals such a message will convey. I am not saying he should retract his utterance but I must caution that he truly exercise caution with these congratulatory messages to the APRC, especially –an institution that represents massive terror and human rights abuses, a clear victim being Fatty himself when a truck somersaulted his private vehicle, and most recently as alleged an attack on his family for raising the GMC flag in their homes. On a side note, I join him in congratulating the people of Wulli for exercising their constitutional mandate of going through the voting process.

Probably, my ignorance of politics, and I promise to do better when I grow up. I leave that to Joe and the many of you, better in analysis, politics lesson 101.

Hopefully to see you soon in July 4th again.

Regards,
Yero

> Greetings, We are Friends of Hassan Touray. Hassan is Chief Technology Officer
> of Pristine Consulting a company that financed the GAMBIS biometric project. The
> company signed a contract with the Gambian government on 20th April 2009. When
> the company started requesting for payments as per the contract, its executives,
> employees, and family members became subjected to a campaign of arrests and
> detention. The company filed a lawsuit against the government for breach of
> contract. Unfortunately, Hassan became a victim to a retaliation that saw him
> arrested and remanded in the notorious and inhumane Mile 2 after being charged
> with bogus and manufactured charges. This despite the fact that the issue at
> hand is a commercial dispute with provisions for dispute resolution which has
> now been improperly and illegally turned into a criminal case. This lack of
> respect for the rule of law and for contracts is something that should be
> condemned by all moral people and should be brought to the attention of the
> world. Therefore, we the friends of Hassan have come together across different
> professions, races, and countries to initiate a civil campaign to ensure his
> release. We have started a Facebook page to document the truth. In the page, you
> will see what a stellar and honest character Hassan is, the great work his
> company did for the Gambian people, and testimony from people about his true
