Subject: [G_L] Due to the Nature of Gambians, am emphasizing on the RISKS of Gambia Film Village to protect myself.

Cousin Haruna et al of the Gambia L Bantaba List,

Thanks your piece of advice is noted and would be considered where feasible.

Due to the nature of Gambians, I am emphasizing on the risks of my Gambia Film
Village SPC Project to protect myself.

I AM KEEPING MY CARDS VERY CLOSE TO MY CHEST.

I am also not laying on my eggs on the basket of my Brother Jammeh.

The reality on the ground is that one cannot start any high-impact initiative in
The Gambia without passing through President Jammeh. The Gambia today is his
playground.

I am aware of the possibility of Jammeh changing his my and throwing me into
jail once I set foot into The Gambian Jurisdiction but this is a risk I am ready
to take!! I am NOT out to challenge his authority and I do not think he will be
myopic to take my online homour in any fastidious way. Though the Factor X is
there.

I am just out to contribute my quota towards the development of our Beloved
Gambia. What I have in mind cannot be executed through remote control. I have to
be checking on the ground.

Am young and not afraid of risks. If I cannot take political risks, I feel I
should have the prerogatives to take CREATIVE RISKS.

On whatelse should I spend my over-supply of testosterones? Ladies? I have
enough ladies. Even yesterday I go very hot romantic messages that made me warm
and forget the current deem freeze in Europe.

My testosterones need more real life challenges and I believe starting a film
industry from scratch with all the risks is a good challenge.

I do not need an army of lackeys and laggards around me. A team of few
PASSIONATE people is enough.

I do not also need people who studied just to pass their exams with catalogues
of degrees to lecture me on the rudiments of my trade. The PASSIONATE
illiterates who are go-getters are better for me.

The problem with Gambians/Africans is that they are too comfortable and too lazy
to take creative risks. Some of the successful ones love practicing
SELF-PRESERVATION and placing stumbling blocks ahead of their young ones.

Before TWITTER some young Kenyans creatives came out with USHAHIDI application.
It was used in documenting the evidences that helped the ICC nail the sponsors
of that country's post-eclection violence. USHAHIDI also helped in rescuing
victims of the Haitian Earthquake. But to date no wealthy Kenyan/African
supported the creators of USAHID which had more useful features that Twittter to
grow and consolidate. Few weeks ago Prince Al Walid of Saudi Arabia invested
massively in Twitter knowing that he will not get any returns on his investment
in the short terms.

The Russian oligarchs who bunkered their money in Facebook have not been
dictating Marc Zuckberng or asking hims to make unrealistic guarantees. Yet
Facebook had other competitors in the global social media market at the time of
its launch.

Business is also psychological. If you do not put for feet down and make your
modus operand known without fear, you will remain in a merry-go-round system of
begging. Many investors do not necessary look at the beautiful Business Plans
and Concepts. They look at the PERSON BEHIND THEM. Donald Trump was bankrupt at
some point in his life but he managed to come back stronger and bigger. Steve
Jobes was once frustrated out of his baby ,Apple, but he came back bigger and
stronger. Setbacks are part of entrepreneurship.

So the stature of the entrepreneur behind an initiative counts more.

I am not expecting a Penny from any Gambian at home and abroad. In the
competition notice, I emphasized on MEDIUM and LONG-TERM FOCUS for serious
investors. If this is not clear and transparent enough for people, fine.

As for the architectural competition, it is open and voluntary. I am not
relying on it blindly. If no one participates, I will use the prize money to
hire other non-Gambian architects to do the drawings. It is as easy as licking
ice creams. I HAVE THE BIG PIECE OF LAND IN U.R.R., to start on. It is luckily
located closer to the South Bank Road and also not far from River Gambia.

I know this initiative will NOT be easy. There will be setbacks, tears, anger,
pains, shocks.

I will NOT paint any rosy picture of my Gambia Film Village project for reasons
best known to me. No one will get success guarantees from me.

However am confident that those who are passionate will not be discouraged by
the risks and the real life obstacles.

The emphasis on the risks is not just a deliberate self-protection move burt
also a FILTERING mechanism.

Nawari,

Prince BA Sankanu
