John,

Thanks for speaking up about those other groups. I knew other lists like that were around but I just don't keep up with that type of thing much any more.

Phil.

Sharon, blindad is at google groups, blindattic is at blind treasures.com and bst is at yahoogroups.

Sharon, blind-x is not a buy sell and trade list. I suppose exchange has to do with exchanging ideas and messages. I don't have the subscription info handy but there are some lists that you want, such as, blindad, bst and blindattic.

        Hi Phil,

I'd like to know more about Blind exchange. Is it a place where blind people can offer or sell items? If not, do you know of another where people are allowed to ask for stuff like equipment that they sell for a high price? I belong to the blind-giveaway list, but I don't think the mod wants us to ask very much.

Also, do you know of a list that has daily short stories of testimonies and seemingly trivial goings-on that would be used in devotionals? If I were up to owning and moderating a list myself, I would create one with the idea that, a testimony a day keeps the devil away. I go to Guideposts every once in awhile to read the stories, but I wonder if there are better ones that are open to let The Holy Spirit move in any way He wishes.

        blessings,

Ann Parsons asked me a few months ago to be her co-moderator so the list, blind exchange which I started back in 95 I believe, is back in my addressbook. I turned that list over to Ann several years ago because, at first, it got so my hands were too weak to type very much. Later, of course, as most of you know, I turned 50 and the bottom fell out and I crashed and burn, as well as jumping the tracks. How many other metaphors describe PTSD, hearing voices, having nightmares, and anxiety and panic attacks that frightened the begeebers or pea waddling right out of me. I don't know how those last words or spelled and couldn't find them in any dictionary but my mom used to say them, my oldest 72 year old sister still does, so it must be ok to use them. Anyhow, again, as most of you know, my hands growing week got worse every year until I started having difficulties reading Braille, and other physical symptoms showed themselves, until I finally had neck surgery on my upper spine January of 2009. Blind-x isn't as busy as it once was but that was back before all the other mailing lists. Now, there are so many blind related mailing list, you can't hardly keep track of them all. Anyhow, this list, for that matter, is own by Vicki because I turned it over to her back then, too, for all the same reasons. Blind-x used to run at least an average of 100 emails per day and sometimes, when arguments broke out, it would lock that list up at 200 emails until it dropped below 200 and the mail was released. As the owner, I had blind-x set to no more than 200 messages per day. I still have some old mail I've kept of the fights that would break out on that list and they are fun to read. Some of the non-Christians that used to try and pound me into the ground have, in later years, called to tell me they were now born again Christians. Funny how God works.
