Removing the Mask: Wolves

Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep, but are
really wolves that will tear you apart.
Matthew 7:15 NLT

Matthew 5:15-20

Many voices are vying for attention in today's religious world. Bookstores
are filled with speculative opinions on every conceivable subject, airwaves are
filled with passionate orators, and thousands of pulpits are filled each
week by preachers from a range of spectrums. How do we know if the speaker is
a sheep or a wolf in disguise?
Look for purity of doctrine, then look for purity of behavior and action.
"You will know them by their fruits," said Jesus.
In his book, How Christianity Changed the World, Alvin J. Schmidt points
out that true Christianity has been improving lives for 2000 years. It has
emphasized
the sanctity of human life, elevated sexual morality, honored the role of
women in society, established hospitals, started universities, bestowed dignity
on labor, launched scientific inquiry into the wonders of creation,
abolished slavery, influenced art, architecture, music, and literature, and
always
left this world better than it found it.
How about your life? Is your Christianity touching the world for good?

Every time charity and compassion are seen in operation, the credit goes to
Jesus Christ.
Alvin J. Schmidt
