When I first went GF over three years ago, I was told by a reliable
source (a registered dietician celiac with many years of experience
following the GF diet) that tomato products were very strictly regulated
& that we could trust the labeling. I've never had any problems using
any brand of plain tomato sauce until this week. I used a six ounce can
of tomato sauce in a favorite chicken dish of mine and got a very
definite gluten reaction. Got so sick, I had to miss work.

The problem is, I don't know exactly which brand of tomato sauce I used.
I have several NEW brands in my pantry so I don't know who to call to
verify GF status. Besides that I don't trust customer service reps to
really know what they are talking about when it comes to gluten. I trust
a fellow celiac experienced in the GF diet a lot more.

Do any of you have a brand name(s) of plain tomato sauce that you've used
& trusted for a good long time?
