I have been on a prescribed order of Pepcid for many years for a hiatal hernia. I was diagnosed CD Nov 2001. I have seen my internist, gastro, and gyn since then. All of them know of my Pepcid intake, all of them know how badly destroyed my intestines are. I have osteoporosis and hypoglycemia. My diet consists of poultry, lettuce with few shredded carrots, sprouts, scallions and mushrooms, olive oil/rice vinegar, nuts and only a few rice products...crackers & 2 slices of bread per day. Nothing else can be digested.

My healthfood store nutrician specialist suggests that Pepcid is interfering with the absorption of calcium and protein. Why haven't 3 doctors mentioned that? So I wrote to the makers of Pepcid, and this is their reply:

Dear Consumer:

Thank you for visiting our website. We appreciate your interest in our
products.

If you have any health concerns, you should speak with a physician who
is familiar with you and your personal medical history.

Thank you for providing us with your comments.
