Previous discussion of the three antibody blood tests has dealt with using
them to diagnose celiac: false positives and false negatives limit their
use for ultimate diagnosis but does leave them as a screening tool for
intestinal biopsy.

Do these limitations carry over in using them to verify that gluten is
being adequately excluded from the diet? Can one or more of these
antibodies be elevated in the absence of gluten intake for a biopsy
diagnosed person? Conversely, can gluten intake NOT elevate one or more of
these? Is the anti-endomysial test alone sufficient for this use?
