I recently sent an inquiry to Las Palmas (they are a producer of Mexican
enchilada sauces and other Mexican food products) because I couldn't find
any info about the GF status of their products on line. Below is Las Palmas'
response to my inquiry and my response to them. The frustrating thing is
that they are likely gluten-free, but if they aren't testing them, there
must be a suspicion of gluten contamination, and I'd rather not play
gluten-roulette with my family's health.

Dear Pam,

Thank you for contacting Las Palmas. We are always glad to hear from our
consumers and place great value on your comments, suggestions and opinions.

At Las Palmas we are well aware that quality products and customer
satisfaction are a winning combination. We have not analyzed our Las Palmas
sauces for gluten, and therefore cannot make the gluten-free claim for any
of our products.

We are always trying to improve, and comments such as yours help us do just
that!

Sincerely,

Corporate Consumer Affairs
B&G Foods, Inc.

My response to Las Palmas begins here:

Then you've just lost my business. I can't risk my family's health on a
product that I'm not confident is safe for them. I guess I will have to
start using Hatch enchilada sauces, even though I don't like them as well,
as they are certified gluten-free. I hope that Las Palmas will decide to
take the extra step to determine if its products are gluten-free so we can
resume using them again.
