Regarding my message to the list questioning the gluten free status of
Fruitrim.

In the body of my mail I quoted a telephone conversation woth the
manufacturer of FruitrimTM as stating that it was used by Energy Foods. I
also said that he didn't voluteer to send us anything in writing.

I hope that the tone of my message made it clear that I was questioning
his statements.

I received an e-mail from Sam Wylde, III, President of Ener-G foods, who
as many know, is a person who runs a company which is very supportive to
celiacs. He states

Ener-G Foods does not and has never used FruitrimTM.

He also states that there are some companies who use a similar name.

Ener-G foods is a name I have always trusted. My feelings about FruitrimTM
are still that it is a very questionable product for celiacs. I also
question the statements by the manufacturer.

I also received a message from a list reader who said that Pamela's
gluten free cookies in her cupboard do not list FuitrimTM.

I made my post to make sure that a person did not purchase a product under
a store placard that said it was gluten free, namely the New Morning
cereals, with out checking further.

I apologize to Ener-G foods if my message caused any confusion.
