Jason,

I would just like to second everything Kyle said and also add my 2 cents
worth.
You stated that you were apprehensive about the term "special education" The
term can have a large variation of meanings. Unfortunately, special education
often conjures up very negative images, such as severely mentally disabled
persons. "Special Education" can vary from being in a resource room one
period per day to a self-contained classroom all day long. There are classes
for all types of labels or diagnoses. As a parent, you have a right to
participate in all the proceedings involved in making decisions regarding
Lauren.

Good luck.

Bobby
