"I guess the new houses have improved the neighborhood, but I miss the old
raspberry and hoisinberry bushes that used to grow there. I loved to go pick
them."

So I was told last week by someone on 128th Street.

One problem.

Hoisinberries don't grow on bushes.
Hoisinberries don't even grow.
There is no such thing as a hoisinberry.
Hoisin sauce is made from soybeans, sweet pototoes - but not berries.

Damn NY city boys, their accents, and public schoolin'. It's Boysenberries.

Good thing that it wasn't gooseberries. Who knows what your prose would
have revealed.
