Cold hard freeze tonight , extra log on the fire ,bid out on the Carnegie
library due tomorrow; has anyone done a book on Carnegie librarys (Chris?) down
hair amid the ruins of 20th cent small town America they stand as beacons of
light in an architectural jewel of arched windows in long red brick and
parapets of decorative terra cotta.
here then is my Christmas card to you
Where the time goes/ a Christmas carol
Im not sure where the time goes
Around the Christmas tree and down the hall
Past little girls library and festive lights
Good for Santa
On this stormy night
We light the fire and hang the stockings
Wild night out and trees are knocking
Along the house scratching window and glass
Snug at my side is my little lass
In All lange syne there is Christmas past
Treasures a waiting, windows fast
In Creole cottage with lots of snow ;
Tiny new baby and fire aglow
Little girl lively cuddly and warm
Cheeks all rosy, frightful storm
Wasn’t I just living on Central Park West
Surrounded by all , biggest and best
Dining with princesses,dancing all night
Lovers too many, bills out of sight
Supporting French restaurants and bar tenders galore
mid life crisis there has to be more
Cabin warm in the chill of the air
Dinner is made with the greatest of care
Sleepy dogs rest at the foot of the bed
Sugar plum rabbits dance in their heads
Daughter and I read by the fire
I turn the page and she starts to tire
Furry woosels and a fish with a cap
Little girls head asleep on my lap . .
Where the time goes that I know not
Giggles and dreams on a cold winters night
Lessons I’ve learned in this short time
Put faith in your love and all
will be fine .
