Why?  What's wrong with DAP33 or linseed oil based putty?  Haven't had any
trouble with either and been using them for years.  However, one possible
suggestion-talk to a stained glass studio and find out what kind of glazing
putty they use to "waterproof" the glass/lead came joint.
