Yep, I think you have a point. The entrance had two right angled corridors,
cutting edge bomb shelter design as the belief was that radiation waves
wouldn't go around corners, or something like that.

My dad, who new Laurence Rockefeller had a bomb shelter built underground at
our house in Londonderry, VT in the 60's. Not as fancy, but could easily
sleep a dozen people. 18 inch thick concrete walls and ceiling and built
directly on ledge, and accessed from the rear (uphill) side of the basement.
In the seventies we converted it into a sauna.
