George Fore, who just happens to live in Raleigh (he's a pretty well known
architectural conservator nationally, for youse guyses that don't know),
evaluated my locally-formulated paint failure for me. Tnemec was one of the
paints that he mentioned that was made of real stuff, and properly
formulated to actually create a durable film. He also said (sorry Ken, for
whatever angst it is that you have not yet revealed the causes of regarding
the following product) that Benjamin Moore Paints are well formulated among
your "heavily advertised" branded paints that trade in the $25 per gallon
price range scheme and are transported by black helicopters to the
distributors. My Ben Moore acrylics are now at about 18 months, and looking
most excellent, but time will tell. My locally formulated (alkyd) stuff had
all failed completely at 18 months, so I'm happy for whatever additional
time I can have....
