Hi All,

We've been discussing accessibility via IOS apps for radios on the Active
Elements reflector for a while, and more recently the advantages of
generally holding a list of accessible amateur radio software. The Ipod
touch can be bought for not much more than a voice chip and has enormous
potential.

I occasionally hear of several amateur apps that are being successfully used
with Voice Over, from finding repeaters to the DX cluster, and it would be
wonderful if we had a volunteer or two to start to collate a list of the
good and the unusable. I would be happy to host the list on the AE web
site. Who knows, with such a list on display, it might encourage amateur
radio app developers to think about accessibility.

Best wishes, Kelvin Marsh - M0AID

Subject: App idea

Hi all:=20

The Pignology web site says you can email them an idea for an app. I think
K=
elvin touched on something here. A standalone app to act as a screen reader
w=
ould be a gd thing. Coupled with a pigtail, even the menus could be
accessed=
and spoken. If I have my home theatre receiver app open, it speaks when I
c=
hanges sources with the remote. So why not do the same for an FT-1000/2000X
s=
eries or Tentec?=20
I think we should collaborate on this and send one gd app idea to Nick.=20
What do you all think?=20
