Hi Ed;
Just looked at the dx77 reviews on e-ham.  Did you use guide ropes for 
yours?  Any idea when mfj took over good old high gain?  The complaint 
seemed to be that quality went down to nothing when mfj took over.

I very much appreciate the suggestion.

Richard, I once had a Hygain D X 77 which was the best vertical i ever
owned.  I got a tower up so sold it.  I don't know if they still make that
antenna but maybe if you could find one you would like it. It covered 40
through 10 including the wark bands.  Stay away from the D X  88 which also
covered 80 but not a performer.  Just a thought.
