I don't know anything about the G3, but I do have the 7600GR, and it's 
pretty easy to use.  Like the 2010, it has synchronous detection, as well as 
upper and lower sideband.  Unfortunately, like the 2010, it has been 
discontinued, so you may have a hard time finding a new one.
