Ya, they are though mine has shorter cells that are side by side with a 
little metal strip between them to link them but that's all it is. Anyone 
with the cells and the ability to solder could do it.

Batteries for the b n s shouldn't ber tyhat hard.  I think they are just
nicads soldered end to end.  Two wires come off of these to the board.  I
would think  batteries plus or such a store could do the job.
