Howard and others,
It appears that the PF key on the front panel can be reassigned to make
voice-2 functions speak, however then the default voice-1 functions will not
talk. Buying the optional MC-47 microphone and the needed MJ-88 adapter (the
MC-47 has an round 8 pin connector and the radio has a 8 wire modular
telephone-style rectangular mic jack) would give the operator 4 additional
assignable PF keys on the microphone. This is one way. I'm going to ask
Kenwood if using a 741/742 dtmf mic would work to give 4 pf keys and the
dtmf would do something.
