The only difference is if there is stress on the connection.  I remember after 
first putting up my tower, in the middle of a contact with a guy in Japan on 20 
meters, his signal dropped suddenly and precipitously.  The problem?  The damn 
crimped SO-239 connector from my Radio Shack coax let go.  No crimped connectors 
for outside work any more for me.

Is there any difference in sr if crimped?  If not I'm thinking that this
would be easier for me.  Thepl259 connctors that you solder aren't
thatmuch cheeper than the crimp ones, at leat not where I bought them
from.
